October 1939
Factory workers who manufactured the "Miki Pulley Continuously Variable Transmission"
A major reform in industrial development was started by one variable speed drive in the machinery of a small factory.
Who could have predicted in 1954 that a transmission invented in a small factory with just a handful of employees would go on to make such a significant contribution to industrial development? At a
time when automation was the buzzword of the era, the belt-type continuously variable transmission introduced by “Miki Seisakusho”—the predecessor of Miki Pulley—further spurred technological innovation in Japan and played a major role in the industrial sector that followed. A few years later
, the company adopted that product name as its current corporate name.
