To provide our products to customers with confidence
[What is a torsional vibration tester?] A torsional vibration tester is a machine used to evaluate the basic durability of products such
as couplings and friction-type fasteners during development. The primary evaluation performed by
a torsional vibration tester is product durability. Through testing, we verify that there are no signs of damage and check for abnormalities—such as looseness—at connection points, including between shafts and hubs, or between bolts and threaded holes.
To ensure our customers can use our products with confidence, Miki Pulley conducts durability tests using torsional vibration testers. Some of the
values listed in our catalog reflect the results of these tests.

Challenges Regarding Testing Time and Costs — Building Our Own New Testing Equipment!
We needed couplings and fasteners capable of withstanding 10 million test cycles
Recently, when providing customized products, it has become common practice to conduct evaluation tests using actual equipment after the product design phase. The
reasons for this include ensuring that internal design reviews are properly implemented, an increase in requests from customers for actual equipment evaluations, and the need to clearly differentiate our products from those of competitors.
However, a single torsional vibration test takes two to three days.
As a result, the testing equipment schedule would often fill up, causing delays in the planned evaluation tests.
Consequently, it became necessary to introduce a new torsional vibration testing machine.

We can now conduct tests using Miki Pulley's couplings, which have a proven track record of successful installations!
We were able to adopt this product with confidence precisely because it passed rigorous testing
Among the components capable of withstanding high-speed rotation, we placed the highest priority on the coupling. We selected our own coupling, which passed a 10-million-cycle durability test and allows us to choose the optimal coupling from a variety of shaft mounting types.
The "SFH (Metal Disc Spring Coupling)" we adopted this time comes in four shaft mounting types: keyway, set screw, flange, and friction. These mounting types can even be combined on the left and right sides, offering a wide range of options. Furthermore, the fact that each side can be customized as a standard product is another attractive feature. I know this has turned into
a bit of a sales pitch for our company (laughs), but precisely because we offer this product to our customers with confidence, we could use it ourselves with peace of mind.
As a result, we’ve resolved the challenge of not being able to verify whether a coupling met the customer’s specifications until it was actually installed on their machinery. Now, we can conduct our own testing and confidently deliver the product to our customers!
