Two Types of Brake Mounting Methods | Spring Applied Brake BXW

2026/06/15

This video demonstrates how to
install our non-excitation type brakes. The video features the BXW-02H, a compact holding brake. In this application
, the brake is mounted on a ball screw unit to maintain position during power outages. This setup is highly effective
for preventing the Z-axis (vertical axis) from dropping during a power outage.
Additionally, for the BXW model, you can choose between "stator mounting," where the stator containing the heat-generating coil is attached to the equipment, and "plate mounting," where the stator is not attached to the equipment but is instead mounted using a plate on the opposite side. Both mounting methods are demonstrated in the video.
