Generally, vertically driven ball screws require a mechanism for stopping and holding the load. In such
cases, unless a servo motor with a built-in brake is selected, a separately mounted, non-excitation-type brake must be installed in addition to the drive source. This
requires securing space not only for the coupling connecting the ball screw and the motor but also for mounting the non-excitation-type brake.
