U-model
In belt-driven power transmission systems, this device is positioned between the drive shaft and the driven shaft; by adjusting its position, it allows for gear shifting without changing the distance between the drive and driven shafts. It is an intermediate variable-pitch pulley that shifts gears via handle operation.
