PL Model
In belt-driven power transmission systems, a variable-pitch pulley is mounted on the drive shaft. By adjusting the distance between the drive and driven shafts, the belt pitch is forcibly altered to change the rotational speed. Using standard V-belt specifications, the design of the pulley faces is optimized to increase the pulley spacing, thereby achieving a higher gear ratio.
