Spring Applied Brakes-Braking Model
Among spring actuated brakes—which are used to maintain the position of mechanical equipment when power is off or as a safety mechanism during power outages—this type is specifically designed to stop equipment, such as through inertial stopping or emergency braking during a power outage. The brake operates via a spring mechanism; when current flows through the coil, an electromagnetic force is generated that overcomes the internal spring force, allowing the rotor to move freely.
