Electromagnetic Clutches and Brakes

This component is designed to apply a brake to a rotating shaft by clamping a plate-shaped rotor secured to the shaft using springs or permanent magnets. When an electric current is applied, it generates an electromagnetic force that overcomes the spring force holding the rotor in place, thereby releasing the rotating shaft. It is used to maintain the position of mechanical equipment when the power is off and as a safety mechanism during power outages.

This type of brake allows motors and other components to operate freely when de-energized; when the brake coil is energized, it generates an electromagnetic force that applies a braking force to the rotating shaft. It enables the control of machine operation, stopping, and positioning. Compared to mechanical brakes, it allows for easy remote operation and high-frequency operation because the braking force is generated through the control of electromagnetic force.

This component uses electromagnetic force to transmit and disconnect power. Typically, when starting or stopping a machine, the power supply must be turned on or off. However, by placing this clutch between the power source and the machine and energizing the clutch coil, power can be transmitted to or disconnected from the machine while the power source remains active.

Cut off power without stopping the machine to bring it to an instant halt. This operation is made
possible by combining an electromagnetic clutch and an electromagnetic brake. A
clutch-brake unit provides this entire sequence of operations as a single unit. In addition to clutch-brake units alone, we also offer
