This is a stationary Leonard-type continuously variable speed motor that combines a separately excited DC motor—ideal for continuous speed variation—with an SCR controller capable of being controlled by a weak electrical signal of just a few mA. It allows for smooth, continuous speed variation from high to low speeds with stable rotation, and features excellent control response and high speed accuracy (±2%).
