Schmidt (Link-type coupling)
Schmidt couplings are used in off-axis power transmission systems—such as those incorporating universal joints that require length in the axial direction—to achieve compact power transmission along the axis. These off-axis couplings utilize the crank motion of the link mechanism and allow for parallel movement of the shaft axes even while rotating.
