Electromagnetic Brake – Flange-Mounted (Wall-Mount) Model
This model involves attaching an electromagnetic coil—known as a stator—to a solid object such as a wall. When an electric current is passed through the stator, it generates an electromagnetic force, thereby producing braking force. A ring-shaped leaf spring is attached to the rotating body; when the current is applied, the leaf spring is pulled toward the stator, causing the rotation to be braked.Although the leaf spring moves in the axial direction, it transmits the braking force in the direction of rotation.
